Kris’s desire to work with animals was sparked at the age of 7 while observing dolphins during a trip to Sea World in Florida. However, her dream of pursuing this career was short lived as she battled Crohn’s Disease beginning at 9 years old. During her 20+ year battle with this life threatening disease, her passion for animals overcame the physical limitations that her doctors’ placed on her.
While working toward her BS in Psychology, Kris interned for several well known dog trainers in New Jersey, such as Aimee Sadler and Beth Bradley. She has worked in locales ranging from Hawaii, Florida and Long Island to train various types of animals including dolphins, seals, sea lions, monkeys, and dogs. Her success has been based on promoting positive methodology principles in her training. She was also instrumental in working with Elaina Franklin, former Supervisor of Animal Training at the Clearwater Aquarium, and the dolphins on the hit film “Dolphin Tale”.
After operating a dog training facility by the Jersey shore, which provided everything from basic thru k9 training, doggy daycare, grooming, and a breeding facility, Kris has decided to join the UPK9 family.
Regardless of age, breed, attitude or past transgression, Kris will successfully train your dog to create and maintain a meaningful relationship.
