Puppy Management

8 – 20 weeks of age.

Start here  – do not wait!!

Training begins the moment you get your puppy and we can help you build a good, solid foundation.  Proper socialization is critical for normal development and future coping skills. Conditioning exercises and drive building are essential to raising a highly social, well balanced and temperamentally sound adult dog. By taking our Puppy Management and Socialization program, even a genetically “average” puppy can be built in to a remarkable working dog upon social maturity. Also it can prevent unwanted behavior and lay a solid  foundation for future obedience training.

This program is geared toward teaching you how to train your puppy and consists of  a semi-private or one-on-one private introductory training session then  supervised socialization classes until your puppy is 20 weeks old.

You will learn and apply:  How to properly communicate  with your puppy, Proper Leadership skills, 3 keys professionals use in training, proper use of food, proper play toys, proper chew toys, good games to play,  housebreaking, crate training, socialization, preventing and fixing nipping and mouthing, dealing with whining and barking, and more. Commands your puppy will learn:  come, sit, down, kennel, place, heel,  get busy( potty on command ), off, quiet, and “break”  a release command. This makes future obedience training a breeze!

During puppy management, you will be establishing a proper relationship and bond that will be treasured for years to come. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

TESTIMONIAL FROM A PUPPY MANAGEMENT GRADUATE

I am writing to provide a testimonial for UPK9′s Puppy classes which
are held weekly on Thursday evenings for puppies 8 – 20 weeks old.  I
have been in the puppy class now for 7 weeks, and I look forward to
attending each week. My puppy, who is a small-breed dog, and by
nature, very sweet, has the usual puppy foibles (chewing, nipping,
pulling on the leash, etc).  I have noticed a marked improvement since
the start of the classes.  I would highly recommend this class to
anyone, whether your dog is a strong-willed larger-breed or a docile,
soft natured smaller breed.  All dogs need socialization, and this
class is the perfect way to do it.  The dogs are exposed not only to
other dogs, but to other people.  And, the best part, the class is lots
of fun both for the dogs and their humans.
