Ted and BB make it into the art scene!

Today we have a video by photographer Lorraine Field. The video is a collection of still photo’s taken of myself, Ted Efthymiadis and my Belgian Malinois named BB. It was an absolute honor to work with such a talented and world renowned photographer on this project. Memory of the Present is a four-part animation of still photographic images with soundscapes. The photo-animations appear in pairs, projected at life size within the same gallery space. Each pairing contains two men, one from the Middle East and one from North America, involved in a non-competitive activity that is engaged in for its own sake and the pleasure of participating in it. As these men are no longer youths, there is an earnestness apparent in how they perform these actions that binds them together, regardless of their differences.

Hi my name is John and I wanted to share a little about my unbelievable experience while training with Unleashed Potential dog training service in Halifax.

I recently adopted a seven year old Husky from a Husky rescue organization in Nova Scotia. The rescue organization told me when I adopted her that she was a lead dog on a sled team. This has made it impossible to walk her.

Regardless of what method or tools I used, I could not seem to stop her from pulling. I even tried a gentle leader that came highly recommended by a local pet store, however this actually seemed to make her pull even worse. No matter what I tried she would pull me, like she was pulling a sled.

After just ONE lesson with Ted, a professional dog trainer from Unleashed Potential, I now have the problem 95% under control.

We are very happy with the service, this has allowed us to enjoy our dog more fully, and we highly recommend Ted and Unleashed Potential to anyone we can!!

One of the things I love most about my career as a dog trainer with unleashed potential is that I have an opportunity to educate Veterinarians, Vet technicians, students, doggy daycare workers and pet store staff. Over the years I have learned a wealth of knowledge from some of the best dog trainers in North America, and I am more than happy to share that experience with those who want to learn more about dog training, aggression, rehabilitation and animal behavior.

Today I had the great privilege of doing a seminar for the students of Eastern college in Halifax, all of the students were Vet technician students. I have to say it was really fun watching light bulbs turn on as people listened, connected, asked questions and had a really good time. At the end of the seminar I brought one of my dogs up to the class room to show how our training methods work. Automatically the entire classroom fell in love with BB, it was a great way to bridge the gap between theory and practical.

I would like to thank Nadine at Eastern college for having me in, and inviting me back next year.
