Rescued Husky Has Unleashed Potential In Bridgewater NS

Rescued Husky has life saving training success!

Itzy is a small energy packed, strong minded Husky mix from SHAID, bought home at ten months old she quickly showed us that she was crazy on leash, ran away from home at every opportunity, had no recall, barked constantly and was destructive in the house and full of nervous and anxious energy, she hardly ate and I realized how stressed out she was not understanding what was expected of her in her new pack.

I had previously clicker trained my other dog (a Lab) and he is good but not perfect, Itzy was responding to some things I taught her but other things seemed out of reach for me, by chance I found out about Unleashed Potential,

Itzy started to learn focus and began almost immediately to settle down, her anxiousness disappearing, we could see the fun loving cheeky little dog she is and the stress levels in our house were replaced with a feeling that we did the right thing adopting her, she is the sort of dog that loves to be exercised not just physically but mentally too and the training gave her that focus she needs, our walks stopped being sabotaged by bad behavior and are now a pleasure, with a dog that I was told would never be able to walk off leash now running freely by my side and playing with my other dog, I can breathe easy knowing she wont end up in the road by accident as she has recall now.

I cannot overstate how happy I am that I found Unleashed Potential and the sense of security and trust it has given me with both my dogs. I now have Happy obedient dogs.

I adopted a rescued hound dog just over 3 years ago. The two of us made good progress together. However, I could not always trust him to return off leash. Scents are his strong focus. Unleashed Potential k9 training helped to make off leash walks possible. I am able to give him the freedom to run in the woods and know that he will return when we are out for a walk.He also had occasional aggressive tendencies that we have also been able to bring under control. Training A German Shorthaired Pointer

Ina, my 3-year-old GSP (German shorthaired pointer), is an energy packed dog who will run around outside all day long and not crash until the sun is down. Since having her as an 8-week-old puppy, she has always been somewhat obedient, but I always knew she wasn’t reaching her full potential. Ina is easily distracted from everything to grasshoppers, butterflies, and especially birds. I always struggled with Ina focusing on me, no matter what environment she was in. I consider myself an active person and I have always enjoyed having her off-leash to play fetch or to go on long hikes at Kejimkujik National Park. However, Ina was very hard to control on a leash and I started to avoid taking her to new environments where I knew she would be easily excited and distracted. Trips to a new park or even to the vet were things I started to dread. No matter what I tried and how long our walks were, I could never get her to stop pulling on her leash. I knew that the obedience issues I was facing with her were taking away from both her life and mine.

I had always been on the search for knowledgeable and qualified dog trainers along the South Shore, but I never found anyone that came with raving reviews. By chance I stumbled upon Unleashed Potential . I loved everything! I read about their dog obedience services and opted to give it a try. Since I started working with Unleashed Potential I have seen a huge transformation in Ina. I am now able to enjoy my dog much more than I ever have before. The training was beyond my expectations. Heeling was something that I never thought I could possibly get Ina to do. However, I can now take Ina for a walk and even a run with her heeling, no matter what insects or animals are around, or who we come across. Ina is focused on me and will recall even with distractions. The dread of not being able to control Ina when she is excited in a new environment is now a thing of the past. Ina and I now enjoy trips to the lake and long walks together on and off leash. Ina is living her life to the fullest now that her potential has been unleashed!

Hi my name is John and I wanted to share a little about my unbelievable experience while training with Unleashed Potential dog training.

I recently adopted a seven year old Siberian Husky from a Husky rescue organization in Nova Scotia. The rescue organization told me when I adopted her that she was a lead dog on a sled team. This has made it impossible to walk her.

Regardless of what method or tools I used, I could not seem to stop her from pulling. I even tried a gentle leader that came highly recommended by a local pet store, however this actually seemed to make her pull even worse. No matter what I tried she would pull me, like she was pulling a sled.

After just ONE lesson with, a professional dog trainer from Unleashed Potential, I now have the problem 95% under control.

Chocolate Lab UNLEASHED

Rolo is 5 years old and all things chocolate labs are supposed to be; hyper, fun, goofy, lovable, etc. But, he was also stubborn and unruly. We had tried puppy obedience classes when he was small, he pulled so badly we couldn’t get him into the classroom and inside, he was too distracted to learn anything. The classes didn’t seem to help at all and to be honest, I’m not sure we “passed” them. We had a private trainer in two different times over the years, we learned basic obedience, but Rolo was dominant and stubborn, it took him weeks to give in to the down command. I tried books, videos and searched the internet for help. We had different collars, leashes, halties and harnesses. Over the years, we’ve adapted our lives around Rolo’s issues. Moving across the street away from other people and dogs while walking, not taking him to places like the lake or the park, keeping him fenced in the yard because he’d run as soon as he’d realize he wasn’t leashed, and putting him outside or in another room when company came because he’d jump all over them. It was embarrassing to have people in, it was embarrassing to take him out. The last straw came when we had to take him to the vet and his behavior landed us in a private room away from everyone else. I was feeling desperate to have some control over my life and this dog, and found Unleashed Potential during one of my internet searches. The upk9 trainer came to the house and gave a demonstration, explained his methods and left all the information I needed. At first, I was very skeptical, I had tried a lot of things so far and wasn’t convinced this was going to work.

But, I decided to go ahead, and the results have been amazing.

Rolo now plays in the front yard while I shovel snow without a fence! He’s been skating with us for the first time and never once wandered off, not even when two large dogs showed up. He has been learning to greet people without scaring them, and has advanced enough to take him off leash in Point Pleasant Park. We still have a lot to learn, but I’m confident we can master it. We even made it to the vet without being removed from the waiting room!!

I am impressed on how quickly the results were seen with proper direction and support. I’m really looking forward to summer, cottages, lakes and beaches, Rolo is loving his new freedom!!
