I always love to see our upk9 dog trainers enjoying their career. 🙂 Getting invited to do presentations on TV, in community events, schools, businesses, and other small or large groups is just one of many fun things we get to do!
Among many presentations, one of the most requested presentations we do is on the truth abut different types of dog training methods, the pros and cons and the best ways to approach dog training for success in the real world. Other popular presentations we often do is bite prevention seminars. I’ll have to do a blog on that some day.
Here is what one of our Unleashed Potential Dog trainers writes in our Unleashed Potential blog:
“One of the things I love most about my career as a dog trainer with unleashed potential is that I have an opportunity to educate Veterinarians, Vet technicians, students, doggy daycare workers and pet store staff. Over the years I have learned a wealth of knowledge from some of the best dog trainers in North America, and I am more than happy to share that experience with those who want to learn more about dog training, aggression, rehabilitation and animal behavior. Today I had the great privilege of doing a seminar for the students of Eastern college in Halifax, all of the students were Vet technician students. I have to say it was really fun watching light bulbs turn on as people listened, connected, asked questions and had a really good time. At the end of the seminar I brought one of my dogs up to the class room to show how our training methods work. Automatically the entire classroom fell in love with BB my Belgian malinois , it was a great way to bridge the gap between theory and practical. I would like to thank Nadine at Eastern college for having me in, and inviting me back next year.”
Most of all they love our dogs!
I feel being a dog trainer is one of the best jobs there is, but in order to be good at it you not only need lots of knowledge and skill, you need to have a people personality and no fear of presenting in public. This is just one amongst many traits for success.
Keep on rocking in Halifax!!
