How Unleashed Potential Can Help You- A look at our Lifetime Group Class After The Private Dog Training Lessons.

We offer private training sessions, or a board and train, followed by group classes for life. This allows you and your dog to learn in a calm, quiet environment while having all the focus and attention on you. Once private training is complete, you can attend weekly group classes, like the one in this video, for the rest of your dog’s life. This means you will have a professional dog trainer, specializing in off leash control and aggression rehab, on hand for the rest of your dog’s life!

At Unleashed Potential K9 The Valley NS, we hold our group classes in real world settings to ensure that your dog can focus on you in any given environment or level of distraction. One week we may be working on a hiking trail and the next we may be walking the busy streets; one week we may be focusing on social interaction and the next we may be working on focus on you, like you see in this video.

First Place, First Time!! Hunting Dog Retrieve Trial Using Dog Training Genesis Training Videos

“I started Duke Ferguson’s Dog Training Genesis (Now part of UPX) on line video training course with my 18 month old dog.

My dog is a Hungarian wire haired Vizsla. I am training him to be a hunting dog to compete in hunting tests.

He did have some kind of basic obedience skills before we started all this. But not steady or to a high level needed for competing in these tests.

Duke Ferguson gives you all the tools, knowledge and skill to train your dog successfully. It is your job as a dog owner to be consistent in your training and to find a good balance in your dog’s working attitude (keep him happy while training). Dukes training style does exactly that.

My main focus was on steadiness on one hand and swift responses on commands on the other hand. And this should all be off-leash.

While Duke´s program is not a specific hunting dog training program, I found it of no trouble to adapt Duke´s techniques to train a hunting dog. The same principles applied.

After a mere 3 months of training, we entered last weekend our very first hunting working test.

45 other dogs entered as well. The goal in this competition is getting all 10 retrieves while the dog remains perfectly steady and off-leash all the time. No barking or peeping is allowed. Touching your dog is a no-no too.

Handling your dog with whistle and hand signals is a must.

Result; while my dog was the youngest! dog competing and only 7% of the dogs got all 10 retrieves, my little guy left all the other dogs thinking….

He finished 1st. You can imagine how proud I am of my little guy!

Out of Control Lab, Ginger- Testimonial

A few months after getting our lab/retriever, Ginger, daily life started to become stressful. The kids didn’t want to play with the her because she would bite at them and knock them over, and my husband refused to walk her anymore because she pulled so hard on the leash even an anti pull harness didn’t work. Ginger was relentlessly; she went after anything that moved, cat,s birds, leaves ect., she would eat everything she looked at, including large rocks. Life was just crazy!

We tried a trainer that taught us how to get her to sit but she wouldn’t stay. It got to the point where her day was spent getting yelled at or locked away in a kennel because we couldn’t take her anywhere or do anything with her. I was very skeptical that training would do anything to change her hyper personality but the only other option was to give her away, so after some research and asking around, we found Camellia. Immediately after beginning training I could see changes in Ginger. A 20 minute session had her panting exhausted, but she LOVED it and I was enjoying spending that time with her. Whenever I had questions Camellia quickly responded and gave advice that actually worked! After hitting a rough spot with some behaviors we weren’t sure how to deal with, we sent Ginger away with Camellia for a 5 day board and train. You wouldn’t think that much would change in 5 days, but it has tremendously!

Now my family could not be happier because life is way less stressful for everyone, including Ginger. She is actually now a part of our family, not an annoyance. I am able to take her out with confidence and my kids are begging to do stuff with her. She has become something I am proud of, not something I am apologizing for when I have guests over.

I would completely recommend Camellia as a trainer to anyone who is possibly hitting their breaking point or who wants to avoid that in their future. Her level of knowledge of dogs and their behaviors is exceptional. We are so pleased and content in knowing that no matter what challenges we come up against, Camellia will be there to guide us through it.
